There’s plenty of things to do around the First Coast this weekend. Here are some of our top picks.

Pick Up Local Favorites at the Jaxsons Night Market

Fans of local farmers markets will love newcomer Jaxsons Night Market, an open-air market that takes place the third Thursday of each month downtown at the corner of Laura and Adams Streets. Stop by anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to check out the latest from local craft breweries, street food vendors, local farmers and artisan and craft makers.

What’s better than hitting the beach with friends to celebrate this awesome weather? How about hitting the beach bars for a Sunday Funday disguised as an epic bar golf challenge? Check out the inaugural Jax Beach Open as well as seven other things that should be on your radar this weekend.

Are you up to par for the Jax Beach Open - 9 Bar Challenge Sponsored by 904 Happy Hour & Grey Goose?

Grab some friends and break out your best golf attire - it’s time for the Jax Beach Open, a pub crawl through nine beach bars each with a golf-related challenge. Check in for the event starts Sunday at Brix Taphouse at 3 p.m. and the final hole closes at the Pier Cantina at 7 p.m. Some incentive (as if you needed more): the player with the lowest personal score wins a $1,500 VIP Prize Package to the Grey Goose Lounge at The PLAYERS Championship. More info on the Facebook event page.

What is there to do around Jacksonville during April, May and June? Plenty. From barbecue throwdowns to farm tours to One Spark, there's plenty of reasons to get out and explore the First Coast this spring. Here are some events and local favorites to put on your schedule:

Rock out at the Oyster Jam Music Festival in Metro Park

Head to downtown Jacksonville’s Metro Park April 12 and 13th for a down-home oyster roast and music festival featuring more than 15 bands rocking along the river. The event will mark Jacksonville’s first oyster cook-off, a shuck’n contest and craft beers to wash everything down. Find out more at theoysterjammusicfestival.com.

A beachside jewelry shop that is a true gem, Ellie Bing Boutique in Jacksonville Beach is like a playland for grownups who enjoy whimsical prints, one-of-a-kind decorative pieces and pretty little things that glimmer.

Open in the Jacksonville Beach area for five years, Ellie Bing is a great spot to pop in to when you’re looking for a unique gift, special occasion jewelry or just a little something to brighten your day. The shop recently expanded its space to double its original size, and is hoping to add a clothing section like the one found in its Avondale location.
